Editorial design for the Presbyterian Church of America’s magazine

Metaleap has had the pleasure of designing byFaith since its inaugural issue, working to help the magazine speak clearly to its readers. As the denominational publication for the Presbyterian Church in America, it delves into topics like social justice, the political climate, and race relations in America from a faith-based perspective. As with many of our titles, our work for byFaith ranges greatly, from a highly conceptual illustration to a striking photo of one of today’s most renowned theologians. In addition to designing byFaith’s four issues per year, through the years, we have completed several redesigns of the magazine and its website, helping their staff better meet and communicate with the publication’s audience.

We’ve developed deep expertise at Metaleap on Christian Ministry branding, working with the likes of InTouch, Sola, Wheaton College, and here with ByFaith. We’ve been thrilled to see this experience flourish in our partnership with the Presbyterian Church of America. Faith-based branding is built upon the same foundational principles we apply to all of our work—whether that’s with Fortune 500 companies or growing ministries. We help clients like the PCA take calculated risks by guiding them through our publication design process. We build confidence and courage by getting really clear on their audience (through research, discovery, and interviews) and by putting clear language around the problem that the client needs to solve. We distill that perspective into a clear and actionable plan, and execute this on time and on budget.
