Editorial design for esteemed bi-monthly magazine serving a quarter million readers

After decades of printing and distributing a widely-read devotional printed in four languages, the Atlanta-based In Touch Ministries brought us on to help them create a full-size bi-monthly magazine with plenty of room for editorial content. We also redesigned the devotional, of which 20 million copies are distributed every year. In Touch Magazine became an artful and clever yet accessible publication, with engaging content and thoughtful, beautiful art direction. Following a hugely successful redesign and several design awards, Metaleap continues to work with In Touch, designing the 12 monthly devotionals each year.In Touch is a 2018 Society of Publication Designers merit winner and was a 2015 finalist for “Best Redesign” alongside The New York Times Magazine, WIRED Italia, Glamour, More, and Maxim.

When you’re reaching 250,000 readers, and looking to grow even more, you have to be really thoughtful about ensuring your brand and publication grows in sync with your audience. We have been thrilled with how the InTouch team has partnered with us to take calculated risks and navigate seasons of change. In moments of transition and transformation (like the passing of the torch from a nonprofit Founder to the next generation), we guide clients to a posture of courage over fear, with principles that guide design, and a process that drives success. That has allowed us to help the InTouch team develop a strategic brand that is thoughtfully expressed through high-quality magazine design and within the overall brand identity of the Christian Ministry. We’ve built experience in this specific arena from our work with the likes of Table Talk, ByFaith, and Sola Media.
